Ignition

Today is my last day of work with a company that I have worked with for five and half years.  It will be hard to say goodbye to everyone I have grown close to over the years, but those feelings are dwarfed by my excitement to start a new chapter of my life.  It is a strange feeling to know that tomorrow I will be unemployed, but it makes the impending departure feel all the more real.

At this point I have renewed my passport, gotten all the immunizations and prescriptions I need to travel, bought a one way ticket to Belize, booked a hostel for the first few days, and now I have finally quit my job.  For the next two weeks I will be taking a bartending class, just to have in my back pocket in case an opportunity arises.  All I have left to do is fill a backpack with everything I need for a year, say my goodbyes and hop on a plane.
